A John Muir Influence

Today I only went out for a surf, and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in, I encountered the clearest way into the Universe and it was through a sparkling sea.
Here is so deeply calm, it’s wonderful how completely everything in the ocean nature fits into us, as if truly part and parent of us. The sun shines not on us but in us. The waves flow not past, but through us, thrilling, tingling, vibrating every fiber and cell of the substance of our bodies, making them glide and sing. The salty crystal water blooms in our bodies as well as our souls, and every bird song, wind song, and wave song of the heart of the ocean is our song, our very own, and sings our love.
Gathering mystical strength and spiritual courage to guide my steps into motherland where all are strangers even within themselves.
As John Muir once said – “Most people are on the world, not in it. Have no conscious sympathy or relationship to anything about them - undiffused, separate, and rigidly alone like marbles of polished stone, touching but separate.”
